Unlock Your Courage WithinSample
Embrace God’s Perspective
Do you sometimes get sidetracked by what others think? Be encouraged by King David’s song in Psalm 139.
This psalm begins by celebrating God’s omniscience, for the Lord knows every move we make and every thought we have. In the verses you’ll read, they profess God’s presence, for there is nowhere we can go or hide that God won’t be there too. “Even there your hand will guide me” (Psalm 139:10 NLT).
God created us delicately, meticulously, marvelously, and with great purpose. The psalmist proclaims, “Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!” (Psalm 139:14). And God’s thoughts of us are loving, dependable, and never-ending.
While there will always be people who reject, criticize, or insult us, we should ask God to search our hearts, point out our weaknesses, and lead us toward godlier behavior.
Reflect: Do you place more faith in the world’s view or in God’s opinion? Meditate on Jesus’ words in John 15:18-19 and list the courageous ways you will adopt and exhibit God’s perspective of you today.
Pray: Father, I am uniquely and wonderfully created by you. Help me to rid my mind of the world’s opinion of me so I can exclusively focus on your trustworthy view.
