Infinite – Kim Walker-Smith
Psalm 145:17-19 (NIV)
God promises to never leave us or forsake us. As a mother, I have a very real understanding of this love. There is nothing my children could do to make me withhold my love from them. They never have to work to earn my love. I give it to them freely. When I hear a sweet little voice in another room crying for Mama, I immediately want to respond to that cry. Our heavenly Father loves us with a love that is without condition, cannot be measured, cannot be contained, and cannot be stopped. Even when we don’t feel Him or see Him or hear Him, He is still there. He may feel far sometimes, but call on Him. He is there, closer than we can imagine in those difficult moments.
Don’t allow things to come between you and Him. Fight every day for that connection- it’s worth it! Imagine you are standing in a doorway. Through the open door is the presence of God. It’s always there and accessible to you. You want to remain in that doorway, never too far away and able to hear even the slightest whisper from Him. When life and distractions pull you further from that place, there are more things to sift through in order to reconnect. Take the time to train your heart and mind to stay close, connected, and aware of your Father who is always there for you. Think about that perfect love today. Consider the ways you can take time in your day to turn your attention to Him and call on Him. Begin to train your heart and mind to be more aware of His presence throughout your day.
Psalm 145:17-19 (NIV)
The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.
