"Fresh Outpouring: Kim Walker-Smith”
Acts 2:17-18 (NIV)
It is so easy to become comfortable and content. When we get busy with life, going through the motions of our day, getting through hour by hour, it’s easy to just settle into things and forget about the passion and zeal we were created for. Jesus was a man on a mission. He went to the cross and conquered death so that every man, woman, and child would be reconciled to their Father who created them and loves them. I want to keep hunger alive in me. I don’t want to become so content that I quit asking God to reveal more of Himself to me. I don’t want to be numb to the stirring of His Spirit inside me when I pass by someone He wants to show His love to. There is always more of God to see and more of Him to get to know. The way He spoke yesterday may not be the way He wants to speak to you today. The way He revealed Himself to you a year ago, may not be the way He wants to reveal Himself today. His promise is true: ask and it will be given to you, knock and the door will be opened. He wants to bring a fresh outpouring of His presence to your life. Can you see the evidence of Jesus, alive inside you? Can you see the evidence of His presence in your family? In your home? There is always more of Him to see, a fresh revelation of His nature to be revealed, and I don’t want to forget that. Today, take a moment to ask God for a fresh outpouring of His Spirit in your life, in your family, in your home, in your place of work. Push past the feelings of contentment and stir yourself to believe for more!
Acts 2:17-18 (NIV)
In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
