Sharing the gospel with the unsaved and bringing them to Christ is part of the essence of being a Christian. Study this chapter. This is one of the fundamental cornerstones of being a disciple. Memorise the Scripture References. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you share "My Story" and "The Story of Jesus" as essential life principles.

To grow as a Christian

Too often, we hear that people are negative about "people just raising their hands and accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour. The problem is NEVER with "raise your hand," but by taking responsibility to begin to disciple the new convert immediately.

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18).

Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good (1 Peter 2:2-3).

Therefore, just as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him, established in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness (Colossians 2:6-7).

How does someone grow spiritually after they give their life to Christ?

1. Immediately tell 2-3 people about your decision to follow Jesus.

2. Turn away from sin. Turn away from everything you know that is not the will of God.

3. Read your Bible - start with one chapter a day. The Book of John is an excellent place to start. If you do not have a Bible, download the Bible App (YouVersion). It has translations of the Bible in more than 2900 different languages.

4. Pray daily. a) Spend time in worship and thanksgiving. b) Confess any sin that God the Holy Spirit shows you. c) Personal requests. d) Pray for other needs and people. e) Pray about the things God revealed to you during your Bible reading and obey what God is showing you to do.

5. Ask God to fill you with his Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will guide you and help you to live in victory over sin.

6. Join a church. It is of utmost importance to join a church or at least a small group of believers where you can be supported and grow spiritually.

7. Join/start a Bible Study Group. Download the Discover app to help you study the Bible.

9. Immediately write down the names of 7 unsaved people and pray for at least one of them daily. Pray for opportunities to share "My Story" and the "Story for Jesus" with them.
