Pause: A Month of Prayer in Five Minutes a DaySample
Proclaim
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Phil. 4:6)
Prompt
Radios can tune in anywhere. If a radio station is broadcasting on a frequency and you have a radio, you can turn a knob or punch an arrow button and hear whatever they’re sending out.
Radio stations send out their signal on a wave, and you dial it in. Pretty cool.
But get this: those radio waves are always around us. Whether you have a radio tuned in to a frequency or not, you’re always surrounded by those radio waves. That’s how your radio can tune them in—because they’re always there.
That’s like God and our prayers. But backward. Because, like radio waves, God is always with us. But also, like a radio, God is always tuned in to our frequency.
Whenever we’re ready to broadcast our prayer, God is already listening. Remember, we are establishing a strong foundation of prayer during this quarter, so lean in with everything you have!
Prod
When you consider that God is always around you, always ready to tune in to your prayers? Does that change the way you live your life today?
If you can, as you pray today, get on your knees. See how this changes your heart posture the moment your knees hit the ground.

Pray
Jesus, thank you for being there for me! Thank you for tuning in to what I have to say to you. I’m so grateful. You are my King, my Savior, and my Lord. You deserve my highest praise, and I am committed to giving that to you today. I surrender to your will, your way, ALWAYS! Amen.

About this Plan
Depression. Loneliness. Comparison. Greed. Addiction. People-pleasing. These are tools of the enemy to steal your calling and rob your joy. In this reading plan, drawn from his book, Lance Lang invites you to neutralize those tools by pausing each day, studying scripture, reading encouragement, taking action, and refocusing your attention on Jesus. Press forward into what God has for you. Press pause.
