Preparing for Marriage Biblically

DAY 11 OF 31

LESSONS FROM THE LIFE OF RUTH

Ruth, though a single woman and widow, took just one decision on who she would follow. In different places in the Bible, men have been called to answer this question: Who is on the Lord’s side (Exo. 32:26)? Who are you following? Whose counsels determine the decisions you make? That you attend the meetings of a man of God does not mean you’re following him. Whoever’s counsels birth your decisions is the one you are following.

Ruth followed the right person who became her destiny linkage. If she had followed Orpah, she would have gone back to her father’s idols, curses, and ancestral flows, and nobody would have known her. She would have missed the great destiny that God had for her and a place of honour that God had created for her among the lineage of the Messiah, and we would not have known it because it would not have happened.

If you will fulfil such a peculiar and uncommon destiny as a woman, you must do these two things that Ruth did:

a.She practised uncommon followership: She followed the right person. Some ladies follow friends and family members into failure, disaster, and oblivion until they are out of God’s programme for their lives.

b.She picked up an assignment: There was no way Boaz would have seen her if she stayed at home. Boaz didn’t marry her based on the recommendations of people but was attracted to her when he saw her gleaning on the field.

PRAYER: Lord, I pray for an anointing for unfeigned followership of the right personalities on my road and divine leading to the assignments of my destiny, in Jesus’ name. Amen!

About this Plan

Preparing for Marriage Biblically

Too many people today do little or no preparation when it comes to marriage; instead focusing their energy on a one-day wedding event! The Bible says, "Two are better than one, for they have a better reward!" For these results and rewards to follow your marriage, there is a preparation phase before marriage because it is when preparation and opportunity meet together that destinies happen.
