Preparing for Marriage Biblically

DAY 1 OF 31

PREPARING FOR MARRIAGE BIBLICALLY

Marriage is an institution ordained by God for man. So many people go into this institution with so many expectations from their spouses without detailed preparation, forgetting that when you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail. Many homes are under fire a few weeks after marriage because there was no deposit of adequate preparation. As the answer of the Lord will only come to a prepared heart, so will you enjoy your spouse if you have prepared for him or her very well. Jesus Christ spent thirty years preparing for a ministry of three and a half years. Since marriage is not for a while but, “till death do us part”, then it’s worth preparing for.

God designed marriage to be enjoyed, but you may have to endure it all through life if you don’t prepare for it. The Bible says, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favour from the Lord” (Pro. 18:22). This simply means that marriage is meant to bring favour, goodness, increase, multiplication, and solutions. It is the lack of preparation that makes a man or woman file for divorce or wish his/her spouse dead. Frustration is not part of God’s design for marriage. The blueprint of the Lord for marriage (as seen in Genesis 2:18) is not evil, pain, frustration, or regret. If you are reading this devotional and you are engaged to marry, you must do the work of preparing for your marriage.

PRAYER: Lord, I pray for a divine ordering of my steps and paths for the right preparation needed for a destiny marriage in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Day 2

About this Plan

Preparing for Marriage Biblically

Too many people today do little or no preparation when it comes to marriage; instead focusing their energy on a one-day wedding event! The Bible says, "Two are better than one, for they have a better reward!" For these results and rewards to follow your marriage, there is a preparation phase before marriage because it is when preparation and opportunity meet together that destinies happen.
