Tearing Down Strongholds

"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 NKJV

The battles we face in life are more spiritual than carnal. We are fighting against principalities and powers of darkness. The strongholds this scripture is referring to are attacks on the mind. Therefore, the scripture says every thought must be taken captive. The enemy places a stronghold on our minds, keeping us from knowing who Christ is and the power we have in Him. Anything that exalts itself against our knowledge of God and our ability in him must be cast down and taken captive.

Declare this today.

In the mighty name of Jesus, I cast down every stronghold the enemy placed around my mind and every lie he has planted that comes against my knowledge of God. I uproot it now in the name of Jesus. Every high thing that tries to exalt itself against my understanding of God, I place you under my feet. I cast down every argument against what I know of God my Father. I declare that every unholy thought that enters my mind will be taken captive and brought to the obedience of Christ Jesus. My weapons are mighty in Christ, more powerful than every weapon of the enemy. I take back my mind and place it under the power and authority of Christ Jesus. In Jesus' name. Amen.
