A Learning Time
Time in God’s presence was never meant to be an earning time. Instead, it’s a learning time.
Prayer is not a “works” program—a legislated system of acquiring merit and, thereby, results. But prayer does enter strongly into the development of my relationship with God, and it isn’t because He gets to like me more, but because I get to know Him better. It has to do with knowing the Lord, understanding His heart and ways, and gaining His wisdom to guide and direct my life.
I learn about God before His Throne. And it’s in that very setting that I’m also most likely to learn about me . . . while I’m with Him.
