Praise In the Presence of Godਨਮੂਨਾ

Praise In the Presence of God

DAY 345 OF 365

God’s Honor

In the Old Testament the word most often translated “glory” is chabod, a word that basically refers to “weight” or “substance.”

Another meaning of chabod is “honor.” For example, have you ever been in a courtroom when the judge entered and everyone stood? Or in a room where a head of state drew people to their feet just by making an entrance? These are gestures showing the “weight” we give to the presence of those whom we honor.

So the psalmist sings, “Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth! Sing out the honor (chabod) of His name; make His praise glorious (chabod).” Does God carry more “weight” with you than anything else in the world?

About this Plan

Praise In the Presence of God

Pastor Jack Hayford points the way to the life-changing pathway of praise. No matter how you feel, praise will shape what your experiences will become. When doubts come, praise God that His Word will never fail you. When fears taunt, praise God that His presence never leaves you. When questions arise, praise God that His wisdom holds every answer. Praise leads you to the One who assures peace beyond strife, hope beyond trial, joy beyond sorrow, and life beyond all.
