Our God Is ____ ?ਨਮੂਨਾ

OUR GOD IS VICTORY

I love how these verses end. “You see, EVERY child of God overcomes the world…” (my emphasis added). What a statement. We overcome simply by being His child. 

It’s like the royal lines of kings and queens, their royalty not based on skill, or performance, but on genes. The Word says we are grafted into Kingdom family. And since we are family, we then also overcome the world, because Jesus overcame the world. 

I think of it this way, because I love sport, all sport. I love to watch live, to be in the moment, feel the tension, game on a knife edge. Who will get the win? Who will win the encounter? If it’s a replay, we already have a result, we can know who wins and loses. 

That is what life with Jesus is like, you might be in the middle of fierce battles, (like the ashes or a Manchester Premier league derby) but you already know that Jesus has overcome. He has conquered sin and death, and therefore we too win. Our God is Victory.

What does this victory mean for how you walk through challenge and success?

Prayer:

Thank you, Jesus, that I have victory in you. No matter what I face, there is victory in you. I am not a minority, but I am majority with the hosts of heaven. Thank for you great power that defeats my enemies ahead of me.
