Life After LifeSample
If you lose something very important to you, do you just give up and not even try to look for it? Of course not! If we lose something important, we usually spend a lot of time searching everywhere to see where it went.
Did you know that’s what God does with each of us, too? Jesus told his followers a story about a shepherd who has 100 sheep. One day, he realizes that just one is missing, but he doesn’t leave it. Instead, he leaves the 99 others to go and search for that one sheep that is lost, and when he finds it he has a big party to celebrate the sheep being found.
Since we are all separated from God because of our sin, we are lost, too, a lot like how the sheep was lost from the shepherd. In the same way that the shepherd didn’t stop searching for the sheep, Jesus keeps searching for us. He doesn’t want even one person to be lost in their sin and separated from him.
We should search for those who are lost, too, so that we can tell them about Jesus. Without Jesus, your friends and family are going to be separated from God for all of eternity. We need to search for those who are lost in our lives and show them Jesus.
Challenge: Take some time to identify who the “one sheep” is in your life who is still lost and needs to hear about Jesus. That friend or family member will suffer by being away from Jesus for all of eternity unless they hear about Him and choose to trust in Him. How can you introduce them to Jesus and tell them what Jesus did for them? Name a person in your life who needs to hear about Jesus today, and think of ways that you can share Jesus with them. Remember that eternity is at stake. What we do today matters.

About this Plan
