Justice

DAY 26 OF 30

WHO IS MY NEIGHBOR?

Neighborliness, said Dietrich Bonhoeffer, is not a quality in other people. It is simply their claim on us! Our neighbor is not only the person living next door; our neighbor is any person whom God places in our path, and whom we can help. Our neighbors can change every day, in fact, every hour. We can’t help everybody in the world. But our neighbor is any individual who needs us, who is and whom we are challenged to help. Our response to neighbors ‘need will be the outcome of our faith. God has redeemed us and all people, that he gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to bring all people into fellowship with God. Therefore all people, equally, are loved by God, and each, as God places him or her near us, is to be loved and served by us. Our faith should accept it as a privilege to serve and gives me the strength to carry out my neighborly duties.

Dear God,
Thank you for your great love. Help us to be a good neighbor to others by sharing your gifts with those in needs and helping those who go suffer domestic violence, slavery, forced labor and various other struggles. - Amen

About this Plan

Justice

My inspiration for this 30 days Devotional is from prolonged theological discourses on Justice. My burning desire is to see that the Church becomes catalyst to stop violence against the poor. I am also grateful to Organizations who work relentlessly to secure Justice for the poor.
