LOVE IN ACTION
I wonder how many people made a New Year resolution to increase the amount of money and time they give to helping and supporting some charitable cause or overseas aid project. We support our church and favorite charities, and it’s easy to think we are doing enough. But so often we hear of people far less well-off than we are making real sacrifices to help others in need. It reminds us of the widow who put all she had into the temple treasury. The truth is that, compared to the great majority of people we are blessed with far more than we actually need. But with great blessings there also come great responsibilities. If we keep telling the world about the overflowing love of God, then we who are his children are also his hands doing what we can to alleviate poverty and hardship in our community and our world. ’This is how we know what love is:
Christ gave his life for us. We too, then ought to give our lives for our brothers and sisters’ (verse 16)
Dear Loving and generous God,
We thank you for all the blessings and love you shower on us. Help us to be a real blessing to others in need. – Amen

About this Plan
My inspiration for this 30 days Devotional is from prolonged theological discourses on Justice. My burning desire is to see that the Church becomes catalyst to stop violence against the poor. I am also grateful to Organizations who work relentlessly to secure Justice for the poor.
