There's Hope For Today

DAY 343 OF 366

Our entire lives revolve around the giving and receiving of care. Unless you go live alone in a cave somewhere, that which matters in life can be measured in caring relationships with others. The richness of a marriage can be measured in the quality and quantity of demonstrated care. Raising children is an exercise in care. Friendships are all about caring, helping, reaching, lifting, and loving.

Among the coldest words a person can hear are the words, “I don’t care!” A new baby requires a high level of care. Each stage that follows requires care of differing texture and color. The “care train” never stops rolling for moms and dads. When the kids are gone, our parents require a greater level of care. When our parents are gone, we are not far from needing additional care ourselves.

God created us for the warmth of the human touch; the comfort of human love; the communion of human language; the security of human acceptance; the joy of the human family. He made us for His good pleasure (Revelation 4:11), but He also made us for one another. The latter is a reflection of the former.

We are never so like God than when we truly care for one another.
