Sharing God: Reflections on 2 Corinthians 5:11-21Sample

Sharing God: Reflections on 2 Corinthians 5:11-21

DAY 1 OF 7

DAILY SCRIPTURE

For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all... (2 Corinthians 5:14a NIV)

GOD LOVES PEOPLE

God loves people. It’s astonishing to think that even though we had all turned away from God, He reached out to us in Jesus because of His love for us. We couldn’t earn or deserve His love, yet Jesus laid down His life so that every person could have access to the Father who longs for His children to be reconciled to Him.

This truth can literally change people’s lives. And it is our great privilege to partner with God by sharing His great love with those around us.

In today’s verse, Paul reveals a key to his passion to live for God and bring this good news to others: he is compelled by Christ’s love. Take a moment to be filled afresh with God’s love. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you receive more of His love deep down in your heart and pray for an increased awareness of His love for people. May we be people who are compelled by Christ’s love to reach out to those around us!

So why not take a step today? Extend a simple hello when it’s not expected. Lend a listening ear to someone who needs to be heard. Offer to pray for a friend who is struggling. Start a conversation with somebody you come across in your day. Be prepared for a small act of kindness that could make a big impact…  Every step is significant.

As we remember the depths of God’s great love for people, we can be confident that Jesus will be right there with us every time we step out in faith to share His love.

THOUGHTS FOR PRAYER AND REFLECTION

·  What are some of the ways that you feel loved by God in your own life?

·  Ask God if there are some specific people you can reach out to with His love this week

·  What are some ways you can show God’s love to these people?

Day 2

Whether you serve in a specific ministry, or you just long to share Jesus with those in your life, we all have the great privilege of introducing the people in our world to our wonderful God and help them take steps towards Him. As we explore 2 Corinthians 5:11-21, we can be greatly encouraged and inspired to partner with God in seeing people encounter His great love for themselves.
