Planting Seeds Of Biblical Truth: The Family Devotional GuideSample
Choosing To Be Kind
TALKING TO GOD
Ask God to help you choose to be kind, especially when you don’t feel like it.
DIVING IN
Reflect on the activities you did today. On a piece of paper, have each person list down all the choices they’ve made in the last 1 hour (e.g. which food to eat first at dinner, whether to sit on the floor or on a chair for this devotion, who you spoke kindly to at home). Those were all choices. God wants you to choose to be kind.
GOING DEEPER
The Bible tells of a kind man Boaz, who shared his harvest and let a poor woman named Ruth gather from his fields (Ruth 2:8). Sometimes, kindness is a choice to share what you have with someone in need. Other times, it may be encouraging a loved one with a sincere compliment.
TALKING TO EACH OTHER
- Does God care whether we are kind to others? How do you know? (Matthew 25:31-40)
- What are some ways you can show kindness daily to those around you?
