GLOBAL CRISIS PRAYERS – Praying for Everyone, EverywhereSample
Day 2. Pray for God’s Family.
In times of crises, remember to pray for the church—your church, yes, and the church worldwide. Pray for the body of Christ.
Start with the local body, your worship community. List the names of your church’s pastor(s), ministry leaders (e.g., elders, deacons, Sunday school teachers, nursery workers), and their spouses and children. List other members of your church who especially need prayer right now.
Add to the list missionaries you support; they may even be in worldwide crisis hot spots.
Even in such trying times, pray that the gospel is proclaimed “as of first importance” (see 1 Corinthians 15:1-11), that God's people will be bright, shining lights that reflect back on the Father (Matthew 5:16).
Pray that the Lord will bless, guide, keep, and use each person in God’s family, near and far, and for any specific needs you are aware of.
Pray for prominent Christian leaders, parachurch ministries and their leaders, all lay workers seeking to be “salt and light” in their communities—“keep on praying for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:18b)!
About this Plan
While we’re called to pray at all times, we especially cry out to God in times of global crises—such as poverty, violence, disease. Yet how do we pray globally? How can we pray for everyone, everywhere? Over the next seven days, you'll find practical ways you can talk to God about people near and far, ensuring that “supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people” (1 Timothy 2:1-2).
