Making Spaces For GodSample
DAY 5: BREAKTHROUGH
I am a fix it kind of person. But I'm not really a patient person. Don't even get me started on how many things I've broken, simply because I moved too quick, or applied too much pressure.
Breakthrough takes faith, not force
Have you ever tried to fix something in your own life, but only found it breaks further? A relationship, a negative thought pattern, a lack of direction?
God has not asked us to fix things in our own strength. Rather, Romans 5 reminds us that He has already done the fixing. Through the death and resurrection of His son, Jesus Christ, he has fixed our brokenness. So - what do we need to do to enter in to this breakthrough? Simply have faith. Hard work and striving will not breakthrough into the promises of God. But our Faith will.
Breakthrough happens in my spirit, before it happens in my circumstance
Hebrews reminds us that Faith is belief for things we cannot see. What do you need faith for today? Begin to use your breath (throwback Day 1) to declare breakthrough in your circumstance. The doorway into God’s promises is not found through petition or complaint, it is found through praise and gratitude.
Let your song be louder than your situation.
Let your praise be louder than your problems.
Consider your words carefully. Do they bring faith and life?
PRAYER
As you listen to today's instrumental - BREAKTHROUGH by Emily Jane Worship (feat. Don Buentipo) - ask God to reveal to you the areas that only He can fix. Begin to declare his promise, with Faith that He has the power to restore.
