Making Spaces For GodSample
DAY 2: BREATHE
Have you ever felt like the space you are in is dry? Work is draining, friendships feel strained, nothing goes as planned. How do you shift in something that feels stuck? How do you bring life into something that feels dead?
What words have you found yourself filling that space with? Complaint, frustration, uncertainty? Maybe you've blamed God? Or found yourself protesting with him to change your situation?
God led Ezekiel into a valley of dry bones. Ezekiel could have looked around and thought there was nothing there for him. I would be pretty keen to get out of there and into somewhere more comfortable. But Ezekiel didn't pray to move out of the valley, he prayed for God to move in!
God commanded Ezekiel to speak life into the dry valley. Perhaps you've found yourself THINKING life, but have you noticed you don't need breath to think? You need breath to SPEAK. There is power when we attach our spoken word - our breath - to our prayers!
I wonder what could happen to your dry space, if you began to speak life into it?
PRAYER
As you listen to today’s instrumental – BREATHE by Emily Jane Worship - become aware of spaces in your world that need a fresh breath of God. Take a deep breath in and use that breath to speak life.
