What are you afraid of?
There are a ton of different fears out there, but for those of us who follow Jesus, there’s one fear that seems to be common. The fear of sharing your faith or talking about Jesus with others.
This isn’t a new fear. Peter, one of Jesus’ best friends fell into this same trap.
Why did Peter deny knowing Jesus? What was he afraid of?
It’s possible that he was afraid of what others would think of him. But, it’s most likely that he was afraid of what would happen to him if he admitted to following Jesus. Would he get arrested? Killed?
You’re probably not afraid of getting arrested or killed for following Jesus (although that does happen in some places around the world!).
You’re probably afraid of getting made fun of, of people thinking your stupid, of getting judged, of saying the wrong thing, losing some friends, or getting put in an awkward position.
But, this is no way to live. This is selfish. This is only thinking about you. As followers of Jesus, we are to put others first. We are to be concerned and care for the well-being of those around us; of our friends, family, team-mates.
If you truly care about people, you will push past the fear. You will be willing to step outside of your comfort zone and have that conversation. You know what a relationship with Jesus is like. Don’t you want others to experience that?

About this Plan
The last thing Jesus told his disciples was, “go and make disciples of all the nations”. We are called to be messengers - to share the good news of Jesus with others. In this plan, we’ll look at why it’s important to share our faith, some fears that hold us back, and what it looks like to actually share Jesus with others.
