DAY 5 OF 5

Seize the Day!

All of us dream about what we still want to do some day—perhaps you would like to travel all over the world, perhaps you dream of your wedding day. Perhaps you would like to enjoy a second honeymoon with your spouse. However, no one knows how many days we still have left (see Mark 13:32). We are assured of only today. Make time today to rejoice and be glad in this day.

Each new day is a gift from the hand of God (see James 1:17 and Psalm 42:8). Each new day is full to overflowing with opportunities you can use, full of happiness you can pass on to others, full of joy because you belong to God.

Use each day to the full—it comes only once; and once past, you can never have it again. You should therefore live as if today is your last day on Earth. Do not postpone what you have always wanted to do—do it today. Tell your family and your loved ones today how much you love them. Use your talents today to enrich others. Look at nature as if you are seeing it for the first time.

Make life for yourself and others happy and meaningful today. Seize the day—you will never have it again. Since you belong to God, He has given you this day to use and enjoy. Thank Him for it and live it to the full!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for another day that You have made. Help me to use every day You give me to the full—grant that I will not postpone things until tomorrow, but that I will receive each new day from You with gladness. Amen.
