DAY 2 OF 5

DAY 2: Unthinkable Touch

Nearly every person I know or have known who has dealt with a long-term illness has experienced the weariness that comes with it. It is natural to long for the illness to be over. No one wants to be sick! The mental toll that comes with physical distress is a heavy burden in its own right. I’m sure that is how the woman with the issue of blood felt. She had been hemorrhaging for twelve long years without any answers, help, or a cure. One day she did the unthinkable. She touched the hem of Jesus’s garment and was instantly healed (Luke 8:43-48).

Living day after day with the same condition had been devastating to the woman physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially, and socially. Have you ever felt that way? No answers for your draining questions. No direction on what to do next and no help. Investing all you have only for it to fail to produce the results you need. Whatever you do don’t give up!

There is a plethora of reasons people fail when faced with a challenge, but the most tragic is that they didn’t try. To get to Jesus the woman had to do two things: First, break the law that was forbidding her from touching another person because she was considered unclean (Lev. 15:25-27). Second, she had to push her way through the crowd if she wanted to touch Jesus. The woman was trembling, but she didn’t let fear stop her and neither should you let it stop you. The Bible says, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Tim. 1:7, NKJV).

Do you need to touch the hand of the Master? As impossible as it may sound, when you touch Him, He releases healing for the sin-sick soul. One touch of the Master can change everything. Today do the unthinkable and reach for God. He’s reaching for you.
