The God Who Sees YouPrøve
What does God find in your heart?
"...And someday I'll start a facility for women with eating disorders." Oops. Saying that sentence out loud — and on camera — was something I hadn't intended to do.
But, the Bible explains exactly why this happened to me at that moment. It says "...For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of." (Matthew 12:34 NIV)
In my heart, I had already thought very often about how nice it would be to help women through such an institution.
Of course, doubts immediately arose, "What will people say now?" I was just 24 years old at that time and could barely pay my own rent. Such a project was way out of my league.
But God saw my heart. He saw into my heart. And that's what you need to understand today. I serve a God “... who sees me...” (Genesis 16:13 NIV)
He doesn't look at you and think, "Can you build a facility for women with eating disorders with these looks? Can I trust you with this?" Instead, He looks right into your heart and then asks the question, "What is your true motivation? Are you doing this out of love for Me or for the approval of people?"
Your true motivation makes a difference in God’s sight. The WONDERFUL happens when God sees LOVE in your heart!
You surely remember the story of when the prophet Samuel was looking for a new king to take over from Saul. The first man Samuel met was the eldest son of Jesse, named Eliab. Samuel saw him as "visually suitable” to be a king.
Then God said: “But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’” (1 Samuel 16:7 NIV)
It was not until Samuel met the youngest son of Jesse — David — that he knew. "But now your kingdom [Saul’s] will not endure; the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him ruler of his people, because you have not kept the Lord ’s command." (1 Samuel 13:14 NIV)
God sees you. And He is pleased when He sees a dream in your heart that will bring Him pleasure too!
For God, it doesn't matter if you have the financial means, the looks, or even the ability. For remember, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26 NIV)
That leaves me with only one question to ask: "What will God find in YOUR heart?"
You are a miracle!

“...You are the God who sees me… I have now seen the One who sees me.” (Genesis 16:13). Do you feel not seen - by friends, family, God? Or maybe you feel rejected? If that is the struggle you are facing, it’s time to be reminded that you are seen by God.
