10 Days To A Better Back To SchoolVoorbeeld
Romans 14:12
So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.
Understanding this verse in Romans is critical in a mom’s world. Our children must understand, from a young age, that THEY are accountable for their own actions in their life. Yes, as moms, we have a huge job parenting them, teaching them, and guiding them in their younger years, but in the end our child will stand alone before God.
Sometimes in order for our children to truly understand the significance of owning their actions we must step back as a mom, and give our children some space to grow. Giving our children space is not an easy task, because after all, we need to “help” them. But, sometimes we “help” so much that we end up creating a child so dependent on us, that they become crippled in the long run.
We don’t want to see our child fail in any way in life, therefore we think we must protect them in all that they do. We forget though, that our children have a Heavenly Father who loves and adores them and who is waiting patiently to pick them up when they fall, dust them off, and guide them.
The best thing we can do as a mom is to give our child some space, tell them we are here for them when they mess up, and most importantly, always point them toward God. God will never leave them nor forsake them, He wants to love them through the good or the bad. What a gift to give your child!
Prayer
Father,
Thank You for my child. You have given me such a huge blessing and I am forever grateful. God, I pray that as I parent my child, I will always keep in mind that one day, at the end of time, my child will have to stand before You alone and give an account of himself/herself before You. God, teach me how to set my child up for success. I understand it is my child’s decision in life, but while he/she is under my roof, give me the words to teach them of Your love and devotion to them, so they will choose to walk after You. Amen.
