Most would agree that prayer is a critical part to their relationship with God. It actually turns out to be one of the only ways you get to talk to the Creator of the universe directly. However, I often come across people who say, "I just don't know how to pray," or "I don't know what to pray."

Apparently, the way Jesus prayed was foreign to the disciples. And they wanted "in" on that way. But they did not simply wish they could pray like Jesus, they wanted to learn how to pray. Jesus told them to approach God as a Father who is greatly respected, central to all creation. Long for the perfect kingdom of His will to come. Ask for God to meet your needs each and every day. Ask God to forgive your sins, and to help you forgive the sins of others.

Father, thank you for your Word, and for teaching us how to pray. Show me how to pray in an exciting and authentic way…like Jesus did. I ask for your will to be done in my life as I follow you. I ask that you would meet my daily needs, and I ask for your forgiveness of my sins when I have wronged you. Help me to forgive others the way you have forgiven me, and keep me from stumbling. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen and So Be It.
