As we approach a new year, I can't help but think about all the "traditions and rituals" people have and participate in. I'm sure you can think of your family's many traditions and rituals about the new year. Have you ever wondered if these traditions were even Biblical? I have! One in my heart lately is what people do to ensure the house is clean. However, I have come to see that the "cleaning" we tend to do isn't helpful to ensure that His Kingdom comes and His will is done. That cleaning doesn't change or improve our lives. It often causes more grief, chaos, and confusion. So, just what if this year we didn't burn sage (I'll deal with that on a different day), forgot about all the superstitions about doing any cleaning or chores on New Year's Day, and tried something different? If you keep reading, I'll tell you exactly what I mean. We will dive into deeper principles each day to help ensure our houses are cleaned spiritually. So, you want a clean house? Let's start here.

Holy Spirit, You are welcome on this journey. Open the eyes of my heart and flood them with understanding. May your spirit of revelation, truth, guidance, light, and clarity overtake me. Every spirit that would try to blind my eyes, I take authority over it, and I bind it now. I want to see what You see. Remove what's not pleasing to You. Please give me the grace to walk in obedience quickly. Lord, I want to honor You. Dethrone every idol and take Your rightful place. I repent for every sin. Cleanse my house, Father. Whatever is not pleasing to You, show me. Lord, have Your way, in Jesus' name I pray, amen!
