The Transfiguration was the zenith of Christ’s earthly ministry. At Baptism, God introduces His Son, but on this mount, He reveals Jesus’ true glorious nature. God speaks again admonishing Jesus as His Son, but also clarifies His mission by having Elijah and Moses inform Him of the plan of the cross. The greatest love any man ever displayed is from Christ’s voluntary courage to return to Jerusalem knowing what was coming. Hebrews says He went to the cross with joy because of the glory He knew on the other side. I believe that conversation took place on the mount of transfiguration.

And, in the New Testament we have a Gospel, Pauline epistle, Hebrews, and the Revelation.
