Prayers of the Bibleनमूना
When was the last time you looked at who God is with the eyes of a child?
We see all through the gospels the importance of children to the ministry of Jesus, and in today’s passage we get a glimpse into why. Children are dependent, no matter what they tell us, they don’t know everything, and they do need our help. That’s the posture that we get to have before God the Father.
It is a grace from God, that He reveals Himself to children, not to those who seemingly have it all together, but rather, those who are dependent. It is His good and gracious will, and as His children, that dependency extends to us. Yesterday Jesus taught us how to pray because we need help. Today Jesus is thanking God the Father for His kindness in how he reveals Himself to us.
God consistently reveals Himself to us, because maybe, like children, we forget things. We forget to look at the world around us with eyes like a child, full of curiosity and awe at just how amazing God is.
Today, ponder this: Go for a walk, and open your eyes like a child and look for God and the ways He has revealed himself and glory through the world around you. And may that take you to a place of praise.
