Week 11. Day 3. Judges 9-12.
Gideon was something of a transition, but now we move to a series of generally bad judges. Note particularly:
- 9:1-6 Abimilech has himself made king (which God never wanted)
- 11:29-40 Jephthah’s tragic vow
It’s hard to draw obvious lessons from these chapters of Judges. But do they (by negative example) help point to the sort of leader we need?
NOTE: Days 1-5 of each week contain the scripture reading for that week. Day 6 has just the 'key chapters'. If you want a briefer version of this plan that still takes you through the whole Bible, you could just read the key chapters featured on day 6. Day 7 has the podcast video where we discuss the week's reading.
