As you read the psalms in this section, keep asking

• what does this teach us about the life of discipleship?
• what does this show us about the king in David’s line?

Psalm to focus on: Psalm 34

Notice how in this Psalm David speaks of his own experience, and then says that the experience of all God’s people will be the same. Even though David is the king, his experience is not unique. David presents himself as someone to learn from.

As you read Ps 34, notice how David says things about himself, and then tells the people to expect the same thing (e.g. v6, 17).
