The Lord Is Close

Do you ever feel like you go to God in prayer with the same things over and over again? Is your prayer life in need of a little lift? The Psalms are full of prayers and truth. To find a road map for prayers and promises, look to the Psalms. The authors of the Psalms knew the truth of this scripture—that the Lord is close to those who pray to Him. They expressed their honest emotions to God—their joy, their fears, their praise. They understood that God loved them and wanted to have a personal relationship with them—just like He does with us. If you’re struggling with how to pray to God or what to pray about, use the Psalms as your guide. Pray through a psalm every day. Add your own personal thoughts and feelings as you pray. Pretty soon, you’ll realize that you have begun a personal friendship with the Creator of the universe.
