Through Worship & Life

Hello. Thank you for spending this week with me on A Miracle Every Day. I am so honored that you would share your life and time with me through this email.

As we close this week of “God Speaking,” I want to draw your attention to two more beautiful ways that God speaks to us. I love to worship God through music, singing, art, seeking out beauty, service, and silence. When I worship, God speaks to me, and I love that it doesn’t happen in only one way. No! God speaks through worship of all kinds! I love that the Bible says:

“Jehoshaphat bowed down with his face to the ground, and all the people of Judah and Jerusalem fell down in worship before the Lord. Then some Levites from the Kohathites and Korahites stood up and praised the Lord, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice.” (II Chronicles 20:18-19, NIV)

The Bible also says:

“My soul waits in silence for God only; from Him is my salvation.” (Psalm 62:1, NIV)

The God who loves you speaks to you when you worship Him with a loud voice and when you worship Him in silence. He speaks in all of it.

I was worshiping God the other day as I often do. The pressure of life was wearing me down so I stepped out for a walk, put worship music in my ears, breathed in God’s creation and meditated on the following verses.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6, NIV)

And, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.” (Proverbs 16:9, NIV)

As I stepped out, I heard God whisper to my heart, “Don’t rush, Grant. Slow down. Stay in this moment with me.” I responded to God’s voice and did just that. I was caught up in the moment, so I stayed. In the end, I was late for a meeting and had to thank those who were at the meeting for their patience. But truthfully, I was not sorry for listening to God’s voice. In fact, what I brought to the meeting was the presence of God, the peace of God, and the voice of God. What a gift to my own heart and the people in the room.

God is speaking to you right now. Listen and do exactly what He says to do and be.

You are a miracle!
