Uncommonनमूना
“Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38
Today is our last week in this series, and God wants to speak to us about our status quo and relationship with our stuff.
We all can look at ‘stuff’ differently. We view its importance and role in our lives differently. We also view what we should do with it differently.
We can look at stuff to make us happy. We can look at it to say something about us. We can look at it to be used for our own ends.
So, the status quo of this relationship needs to be the standard God wants for us, thinking God’s thoughts about the world around us.
Paul gives us insight into our focus:
“Therefore, if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory. Therefore, consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.” Colossians 3:1-5
We’ll dive more into these sets of verses tomorrow, but for now, let’s do a heart inventory.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
- What kind of “stuff” am I in love with?
- Why do I love this particular thing(s)?
- What do I hope my stuff says about me as a person?

The purpose of this devotional is to take a deeper look into the "uncommon" living for those of us walking with Jesus. We are declared holy through Christ, so how do we walk in that holiness? How can we be set apart and walk out our holiness?
