The Gospel of Mark focusses on Jesus' purpose and identity.

Jesus is the Messiah, the one who fulfils God's covenant promises to Abraham (Genesis 12:3).

Who do you say that Jesus is? The testimony of the Gospel of Mark should be sufficient for us to echo Peter's words from today's reading.

Has everyone in your home accepted Jesus as the Messiah and Lord of their lives? Why not confirm with each of them by asking, "Who do you say that Jesus is?"

After reading the passage, use these questions as the basis for your discussion.
