Sit, Walk, Stand - a 40 Day Walk Through of Ephesians

DAY 9 OF 40

Eph 2:1-2

There is a common misconception that Jesus came to make bad people good. As long as we think that, we fall into the trap of thinking we don’t really need a saviour. Bad people need a guide. An encouragement. Tools and principles. Bad people cannot ultimately save themselves. Sadly, this leaves people striving.

Ephesians 2:1-2
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.

Jesus didn’t come to make bad people good. Jesus came to make dead people alive. Dead people can do nothing to help themselves. We don’t ultimately need principles and tools. First and foremost we need to surrender and fall into the arms of our loving Saviour.

We don’t strive, we surrender.

We don’t work, we rest.

We don’t look inward, we look up.

We are not proud, we are grateful.

We are not captains of our own ships, we are recipients.

If our greatest need had been information,

God would have sent us an educator.

If our greatest need had been technology,

God would have sent us a scientist.

If our greatest need had been money,

God would have sent us an economist.

If our greatest need had been pleasure,

God would have sent us an entertainer.

But our greatest need was forgiveness,

So God sent us a Savior.

About this Plan

Sit, Walk, Stand - a 40 Day Walk Through of Ephesians

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? The Christian walk can make you feel like striving when really everything has been done for you by Jesus, but there is still so much to be done. This is the tension every Christian walks in. The tension between the NOW & the NOT-YET. We are SEATED with Jesus, now WALK IT OUT, so that you may STAND.
