Ruins to Restorationनमूना
PRAYER:
PRAY THAT GOD WOULD HELP YOU OVERCOME ANY OPPOSITION THAT WOULD
HINDER YOU FROM FOLLOWING JESUS WHOLE HEARTEDLY
DEVOTIONAL:
In today’s reading, we find out quickly that the rebuilding of the temple of God will not be done
without opposition or protest. While Zerubbabel and his crew of workers began the work on the
temple, a group of people wrote King Artaxerxes in an attempt to persuade him to stop the work
that was being done and as a result, he issued a decree to order the work on the Temple to come
to a screeching halt.
So many times in our own walk with God it can seem that when we are trying to do the right
thing is when we often experience the most opposition. Oftentimes, if we are honest with
ourselves, the opposition doesn’t come from the outside or from other people but instead, it
comes from the inside because it’s our own sin that tries to stop us from building our life on the
foundation of Jesus Christ.
Temptation begins to come against us, distractions try to pull us away from spending time in the
Word or prayer, and busyness tries to draw us away from our local church and spiritual family.
So, what are we to do? How do we deal with these very real dilemmas? We must remember that
even in the face of opposition, God is still in control and even in our weakness, God is still
strong.
Question:
What is one area of your life that you feel you have allowed yourself to become
distracted away from the things of God? How can you give that back to God today?
