Heavenly Peace

We live in a world where peace can be hard to come by. As we look around us, there is conflict, pain, despair. Sometimes this is beyond our borders. However, sometimes, this is close to us. When we are faced with pain and trials, peace can feel beyond our reach.

But we don’t despair because we have Jesus, the Prince of Peace. And He is with us. Jesus brings a peace that is not of this world. He brings a peace that is beyond understanding because it’s a heavenly peace. A peace that only comes through knowing the Saviour of the world. When faced with the hardest trials imaginable, it’s possible to have peace when you have Jesus. Why?

Because the Prince of Peace conquered sin. He defeated death. He gave the blind sight and raised the dead from the grave. He was, is, and always will be victorious. And that means He can make a way in our pain. He can make a way in the wilderness for us to come home. He can make a way in our situation. And that means we can rest in the knowledge that He can be trusted to look after us.

So how do we get this peace? We keep our eyes on Him. We surrender our hearts to Him. We set our minds on Him, and we spend time in His Word, reminding ourselves that we can rest in His heavenly peace and be confident that we are loved, cared for and not forgotten.
