Discovering your gifts can feel like solving a puzzle. There are some pieces that line up right away and are easy to figure out. Then, there are others that take a little more time and patience to put together. Thankfully, no matter how long it takes us to discover our gifts, God has a plan to use them.
In today's reading, you see one of the places where Paul talks about the way God gives us gifts. He says there are different kinds of gifts, but God works through each one of them. He even says there are different kinds of service, but all of it points to the same God. So when it's time for us to start thinking about which gifts God has given us, we have the freedom to explore.
Whether or not you have a general idea of the ways you are gifted, you can start trying new things to discover what sticks with you. You can try taking on new responsibilities with your family or your youth group. You can decide to try out for the things that interest you. You have the freedom to try new things and see what works best for you. Exploring isn't your only option — you can ask others about their perspective of you. Your family, church leaders, and friends might have some helpful insight into the ways you're gifted. With the things you discover and guidance from your friends and family, you'll have a good idea of which gifts God has given you.
