What is something you worked hard to earn? Maybe it’s the phone you worked all summer mowing lawns to earn or that grade you poured all your hard work into to get. To get it, we have to invest a lot of time and energy.

So often we think of God’s grace as something we need to earn. But here's the thing. We can never earn it. No matter what we do—the number of church events we go to or how nice we are to others—we can never earn it. God’s grace is a FREE gift to us. Doesn’t that feel like a weight off your shoulders? But since we didn’t earn it, we can’t take any credit for it either. We can’t go around acting like we are better because we are forgiven and saved by God. Because none of us did any of it to deserve it. It is only because of Jesus’s gift of grace that we can be free from guilt and shame.

So my challenge to you today is to take a few minutes out of your day to stop and praise God and tell Him how much you appreciate Him for giving you undeserved gifts.
