Designed for Greatness: A 10-Day Bible Plan for Menनमूना
More Than Conquerors
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. ROMANS 8:37 NIV
When you hear the word conquer, what do you immediately think about? Maybe you think about how you finally “conquered” the enormous task of cleaning out your garage, or you came face-to-face with a fear and survived, or you landed a promotion, or you finally lost those last ten pounds. Or perhaps the word makes you think of wars or superheroes or your favorite football team’s big win.
The English word conquer is translated from the Greek word nikos. (Fun fact: This is where the Nike company gets its name.) Paul uses the word conquerors in Romans 8:37 to encourage Christians who are suffering because of their faith. When Jesus speaks to the seven churches in Revelation 2–3, He uses the same word, which is translated as “one who is victorious.” Jesus promises eternal blessings to those who are steadfast—who are victorious—in following Him.
When it comes to your relationship with God, do you think of yourself as a conqueror, as someone who has victory? Sure, there will be days when you have setbacks, when you get knocked off your feet and need some encouragement and reassurance to get back up. But if you keep your eyes on Jesus and on His promises for you, you are more than a conqueror. You have the Creator of the universe on your side! Because of His love for you, you can move forward. You can overcome the setbacks and struggles. You are not a failure.
God designed us to conquer, and our faith in Christ equips us for this task. We are not wimps. Those of us who belong to God because of our faith in Jesus and the victory that He has already accomplished through His death and resurrection are empowered by Him to win in this life.
PRAYER:
How good it is to imagine You smiling over my faith, Lord. I am more than a conqueror because of You. I march in this broken, fallen world as a winner, not a loser. Praise be to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

यस योजनाको बारेमा
As our obligations expand with adulthood, as we age, and as our anxieties increase, we start feeling our limitations. Faith in God’s ability to do “anything” starts to dwindle, and the burden on our own shoulders seems to get heavier. Designed for Greatness: Devotions for Men will reignite the spirit of hope and courage within men that they were made to embody.
