Koinonia — Part 1
Koinoniais the word translated here “fellowship.” If we are walking in the light of our Lord, we have koinonia with one another. So what does that word really mean?
Two words are associated with koinonia. The disciples held all property in common. A marketplace or a fountain was the mutual property of the community. So this implies that there is a mutuality, a common holding of resources, a sharing of what we have together in our walk in the light of our Lord.
Many of us feel that we have nothing of resource to offer our brothers and sisters in Christ. Some also feel that our brothers and sisters in Christ have nothing to offer us. According to the Scripture, neither of these positions is God’s will for us.
If nothing else, we have there source of a heart with which to love, ears with which to listen, and hands with which to care.
Are our resources being shared with others? Are their resources being shared with us? Let us walk in the light together. Let us have koinonia.
