Infinitum Family Advent, Week 3नमूना
When Jesus was still young, He had to escape His home & live in another country because it was not safe for Him to stay in Israel. Do you know what it’s called when someone has to live in another country because they are not safe in their home? These precious people are called refugees. They depend on the kindness and generosity of their new home country to build a new life. Jesus was a refugee in Egypt when He was little. And the people of Egypt are proud of themselves, even to this day, for how they received Him and His family in that crisis.
The reason Jesus had to leave Israel was terrible and scary, but those who helped this hurting family build a new home had a fantastic job to do, and it made them proud of themselves and brought them joy! Purpose and joy so powerful that even today, Egypt has a song to celebrate that memory:
Rejoice, Oh Egypt,
oh people of Egypt,
children of Egypt who live within its borders.
Rejoice and lift up your heart,
for the Lover of all mankind
(He who has been before the beginning of all ages)
has come to you.
Making room for Jesus in their hearts and country was an honor to them! It would feel that way to us too! How would you feel if you were given the honour of hosting Jesus in your home this Christmas?!
Can you imagine feeling this same level of honour if you hosted a lonely kid from your school instead? What do you notice about your thoughts as you compare the difference in hosting Jesus instead of a lonely kid from school?
