DAY 21: A Mercy Strategy
By Daniel Grenz (Luke18 Project)
“Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in mercy.”
— Micah 7:18 (NIV)
We are in the midst of great shaking and crisis in our land. Not only have we experienced a global pandemic and national unrest around race and politics, but we live in an hour of history when the tides of darkness are seeking to engulf our campuses, and the blood of the innocent cries out from the ground. Judgment is imminent. Yet, we are not left without a remedy.
God’s strategy has always been that in moments of waywardness and perversion of His ways, He sends prophetic voices to hold the reins and steer a nation back to Him through a cry for mercy. In these moments of crisis, God invites His sons and daughters to ask Him for mercy, for He delights in showing mercy that would stay His judgments and give time for people to turn and for righteousness to once again mark a land.
We are in such a moment on the campuses of America, where the sin of our generation has mounted before heaven and demands a response. And yet the Biblical model of Joel 2 offers us hope that if we seek the Lord with prayer and fasting and with mourning and crying for mercy, “who knows whether He will not turn and relent and leave a blessing behind Him.” God’s mercy is found in the presence of intercessors, securing a mercy remedy in days of trouble. It just may be that in the tracks of mercy will come a great turning of hearts unto historic revival and generational awakening.
PRAYER POINTS:
- Pray for greater revelation of the God whose very name is “abounding in mercy” (Ex 34:6). Meditate on the blood offering of Jesus, given to secure mercy for you and me. Invite the mercy of God to pursue you in a fresh way.
- Ask God for insight into specific issues of injustice and sin over your campus and community. Bring these before Him as tangible realities in need of His mercy. Gather with others (even 2-3) and cry out for mercy to triumph.

यस योजनाको बारेमा
200 years ago in 1823, nearly every major denomination and university across America united in prayer for our nation’s college students. Campuses were being radically transformed by powerful seasons of spiritual awakening. Today, churches and campuses across America are once again uniting in prayer for the next generation on college campuses. Will you join us for 40 days of prayer for revival and spiritual awakening?
