Introduction
Confusion over the expected return of Christ continued to cause disturbances in the church at Thessalonica. In today’s reading, Paul greets the Thessalonians and tells them he is pleased with their faith and love, which has grown despite suffering. He describes how those who reject God will be punished.

How does Paul describe the time of judgment? What does he say about those who believe the message about Jesus? How can you encourage and reassure those who are anxious about the Lord’s coming?

Lord Jesus, as I eagerly await your return, fulfill my desire for goodness and help me to grow day by day in faith and love. In your holy name, I pray. Amen.
