The Test of Faithनमूना
FROM FAITH TO FAITH
Our faith in Christ begins when we trust Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior. However, faith doesn't stop there. Faith becomes our goal too, and this refers to the salvation of our souls. "For you have attained the goal of your faith, which is the salvation of your souls" (1 Pet. 1: 9). To achieve this, we need the Lord Jesus Himself as our guide. "Let us do it with eyes fixed on Jesus, who guides us in faith, and who brings our faith to perfection ..." (Hebrews 12: 2). The Lord wants us to have an intimate relationship with Jesus.
The question is, has Jesus become our guide, model, and purpose in life? Where is He in this life? Is He outside? Do we know Him? Often, we make Him be our guardian. Many people hope and ask Him to guard their lives, but they do not want the Lord to control their ships. We ask Him to protect our lives both from the threat of physical harm and material deprivation.
If we want to have a right relationship with the Father, then we must do and treat our lives more than that. He is not our only guard. He must be our captain as well as our destination. Jesus is the guide who leads us into liberating truth. He is the One who directs us towards the true purpose of life. Our focus is to be like Him in all things.
A half-hearted relationship with God will do nothing. We might have no relationship with our Father at all. We just pretend to be what He wants us to be, even though we don't become anything. We're just wasting our lifetime.
