From Trauma to Triumphनमूना
Component #3 - Resilience
Definition: An ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change (Merriam-Webster, 2020).
One of the beautiful abilities that God gave us is resilience. Life can present some extremely tough challenges that can leave us on almost empty. Some of us have testimonies of heart-breaking experiences and how we have risen above the ashes. Resilience is a disposition, or a response to tragedy or crisis. You have a will to move forward, in spite of. There are many stories in the bible, leading to the resilience of someone in the midst of a difficult situation.
Paul encountered a life-altering experience with Jesus, leaving him temporarily blind. But submitting to his journey of correction and re-focus, Paul became aware of the error of his ways. He was granted, not only his vision- but a new life. It takes a lot to be re-directed from a path that you once thought was right, only to find that it was wrong or not for you. It takes resilience to accept and proceed into uncharted territory. But do it with hope and faith. Trust the process.
Paul's resilience continued to shine because his new life, was full of suffering. He was beaten, stoned, jailed and outcasted as an enemy (2nd Cor. 11:24-27); (Acts 14:19-20). I'm sure that there were times that he had questions for God, but he had faith to press forward in his mission.
I have had countless redirecting moments, pauses, and utter confusion on my journey. But I have learned to be open to flexibility and letting go. I understand that I am not in control and I submit myself to the process that is designed for me. Is it hard? Yes. Is it confusing? Yes. Do I always get it right? Absolutely not!
I encourage you to let your faith ignite a passion that fuels your drive to press forward and I celebrate you in all of your resilience. You rock!
