Real Hope: New Beginningsनमूना
The Mosaic of Life
I have several friends who have a gift of taking things that are old and worn out and making something new. I have watched with wonder as one friend took some broken china and created a beautiful mosaic table top while another friend lovingly took worn fabrics and stitched them patch by patch into a stunning quilt.
I sometimes get to the end of the year and feel that my life has become a bit worn out and chipped. The threads and broken pieces of life can look as though they are of little value, especially when viewed through our cultural lens that dictates a high value on all things shiny and new.
I am thankful that God works newness by gifting His life into what already exists. This type of transformation is the best sort of new beginning. God offers to take whatever seems like old dry bones in our lives and breathe life. He takes my worn, chipped offering of self and asks me to rest in Him and simply know that He is God. Then as I rest, He transforms my life into a mosaic, a patchwork of memories reframed in love and peace that can offer a gift of hope to my own future, and others that I will meet.
