Day Twenty-Three Read Proverbs 23 The people around us influence us more than we think. This passage of Proverbs warns us to be careful of those who are deceitful, stingy, and foolish. If we are not rooted in wisdom, it can be very easy to be swept away by foolish things. Verse 17 says, “Let not your heart envy sinners, but continue in the fear of the LORD all the day.” Reflect What do these verses tell us about speaking to the foolish and listening to them? Why do you think that is? Engage As believers, we have the Holy Spirit within us as a helper. He allows us to understand and guides us as we live. Those who don’t know Him cannot discern right and wrong easily and having hard conversations with them can hurt our relationships with them. We need to pray for those who do not believe and love them but also be cautious in the way we speak to them. An Extra Mile Pray for the people in your life who do not have a relationship with God. Ask God to show Himself to them and pray for opportunities to show them God’s love.
