When was the last time you trusted what someone told you? Perhaps it was a glowing recommendation for a new restaurant, some advice on which fantasy players you should pick up for your team, or a suggestion on which movie you should go see.

You see where I’m going with this? We put our trust in what people tell us all the time, often without thinking twice. And not just when it comes to the trivial examples listed above. If our vehicle breaks down, our house has an issue, or even when our bodies need tending to, we seek out and eventually put our trust in a person who prescribes a course of action.

A lot of life is listening to and trusting in what other people tell us. But consider this: On their very best day, another human being is still a flawed creature. Because we belong to a fallen race, none of us are perfect. We don’t always get things right—we make mistakes and our word isn’t always worthy of the trust others place in it.

But in incalculable contrast to this is God—perfectly flawless in all of His understanding, wisdom, and ways! He’s never gotten anything wrong, never misunderstood a single sentence or issue, and can only speak the perfect truth without any trace of error!

What would you rather put your trust in, another person (well-intentioned as they may be) or God? The right answer is obvious! What God says is worth trusting, every time. It doesn’t matter what the subject is; anything God says is right and trustworthy. But how much more so is this true when it comes to the subject of His own beloved Son Jesus? When God the Father speaks concerning His Son, it’s as true as truth can be!   

God can be trusted, especially when it comes to His Son. And the most undeniable statement He’s made about His Son is raising Him from the dead, proving that Jesus was the acceptable sacrifice for our sins, making it possible for us to be forgiven and justified before God!

“It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.”—Romans 4:24-25 (NKJV)
